무덤의 불빛(the Light in the Graveyard)

After passing through the Mirror House,
Irene and her brave puppy Posil continued walking—
this time toward a quiet, shadowy graveyard.

The sun had already set,
and the only light in the sky came from a pale, sleepy moon.

“I think the next danger is close,” Irene whispered.
“Stay close, Posil.”

Suddenly—

Rustle… rustle…
The ground began to shake.
From between the graves,
cold, gray hands reached up through the dirt.

ZOMBIES!

One… five… ten… more and more!
They crawled out of the ground slowly,
groaning softly with empty eyes and stiff arms.

One zombie wasn’t very scary.
Even two or three were okay.

But there were dozens—too many to count.

Irene pulled out her sword.
“Let’s go, Posil! We can do this together!”

“Woof!” barked Posil, charging ahead.

Irene swung her sword, knocking back one zombie, then another.
Posil dashed through their legs, biting at their ankles.

One by one, the zombies fell.
But for every one they defeated… three more rose.

Slash! Whack!
Irene’s arms were tired.
Her legs were sore.
Posil was panting hard, his paws muddy.

“Hah… hah… I don’t know how much more I can do…”

Zombies began circling them from every side.
Irene raised her sword one last time,
but her hands were shaking.

This was it. She was about to give up.

And then—

FLASH!

A white light appeared in the distance.
Then another.
And another!

The lights soared through the air like shooting stars,
and each one hit a zombie with a POOF!

The zombies turned to dust—
crumbling softly into the earth they came from.

Irene looked up in surprise.

Standing there, holding a glowing wand,
was a girl in a white cloak.

“Irene, are you okay?”

“Jinnie?!”

It was Jinnie, her little sister—
a young sorceress with kind eyes and a powerful heart.

“What are you doing here?!” Irene asked, running toward her.

Jinnie smiled.
“I knew you left on a dangerous journey.
I wanted to come with you, but I was too late.
So I followed. I practiced magic every day.
And now I’m here.”

Irene hugged her tightly.

“Thank you, Jinnie.
I thought this journey was too dangerous for you,
so I left alone…
but I ended up needing you after all.”

Jinnie gently patted her sister’s back.

“You don’t have to do everything alone, you know.
We’re stronger together.”

Irene laughed softly.
“Oh! I have someone to introduce.”

She picked up Posil and held him out to Jinnie.

“This is Posil. He’s been by my side through everything.”

Posil wagged his tail and gave a happy bark.

“Woof!”

Jinnie knelt down and gently stroked Posil’s head.

“Nice to meet you, Posil. You’re a hero too.”

The three stood there—tired, but smiling.

“From now on,” said Irene, “we go together.
No more facing danger alone.”

And so, the brave knight, the loyal puppy,
and the shining young sorceress
walked forward—side by side—

toward whatever magical challenges waited ahead.

숲을 지나고 언덕을 넘어
어느 조용한 무덤가에 도착했어요.

“이 근처에 네 번째 장애물이 있을 거야… 포실, 조심하자.”

그 순간—
바스락… 바스락…
땅 밑에서 이상한 소리가 들려왔어요.

그리고…
흙을 헤치며 무언가가 천천히 올라오기 시작했어요.

바로—
좀비 무리!

그들은 느리지만 끈질기게 움직였고,
모두 똑같이 회색빛 얼굴에 무표정한 눈을 가지고 있었어요.
하나씩 보면 무섭지는 않았지만,
수가 너무 많았어요.

“한 마리씩은 괜찮지만… 이렇게 많다니!”

아이린은 검을 빼들고 외쳤어요.
“포실! 같이 싸우자!”

“멍!” 포실도 용감하게 달려들었어요.

아이린은 하나, 둘, 셋—
차례차례 좀비들을 물리쳤어요.
포실도 날렵하게 다리를 물어 쓰러뜨렸지요.

하지만…

“헉… 헉…”
좀비는 계속해서 몰려왔고,
아이린과 포실은 점점 지쳐가기 시작했어요.

검을 쥔 손이 떨렸고,
포실도 작은 다리로 숨을 헐떡였어요.

“이젠 정말… 힘들어…”

아이린이 무릎을 꿇었을 때—
좀비들은 조용히, 천천히…
아이린을 둘러싸고 다가오고 있었어요.

그 순간!

멀리서 하얀 불빛이 번쩍!

“슈우우우웅!”

그 빛은 여러 갈래로 나뉘어
좀비 무리 하나하나에게 날아가
“퐁!” 소리를 내며 맞았고,
좀비들은 흙으로 툭툭— 무너지며 사라졌어요.

아이린은 깜짝 놀라 뒤를 돌아봤어요.

“……지니?!”

하얀 불빛을 발사한 사람은,
바로 **아이린의 여동생 지니(Jinnie)**였어요!

지니는 하얀 망토를 두르고,
손에는 빛나는 마법 지팡이를 들고 있었어요.

“언니, 괜찮아?”
지니가 달려와 말했어요.

“지니야… 넌 왜 여기에…”

지니는 조용히 웃으며 말했어요.
“언니가 혼자 모험 떠난 거, 나도 다 알고 있었어.
뒤늦게 따라왔지만… 다행히 늦지 않았지?”

아이린은 눈을 깜빡이며
지니를 꼭 안아주었어요.

“고마워, 지니야…
이 모험은 너한테 너무 위험할 것 같아서
혼자 출발했는데…
결국, 널 의지하게 되네.”

지니는 아이린의 등을 가볍게 두드리며 말했어요.

“언니는 항상 혼자 하려고 하지만…
이제는 우리가 함께야.”

아이린은 웃으며 포실을 안아 지니에게 보여주었어요.

“얘는 포실이야.
나를 지켜준, 용감하고 소중한 친구야.”

포실은 “멍!” 하고 한 번 짖고,
지니에게 살짝 달려가 꼬리를 흔들었어요.

지니는 포실의 머리를 쓰다듬으며 말했어요.

“우리 이제 셋이네.
이제부터는 진짜 팀!”

세 사람—
아이린, 포실, 그리고 지니는
손을 꼭 잡고
다시 마법사의 성을 향해 나아갔어요.

세상에서 가장 강하고 따뜻한 모험이
이제 막 시작된 것 같았어요.
