뱀파이어 괴물(The vampire monster)

After meeting Jinnie at the graveyard, Irene, Posil, and Jinnie walked side by side along a moonlit forest path. The silver light of the moon shone down, but the air between the trees felt unusually cold.

“It’s too quiet tonight,” Irene said softly.

“Ssssss…” A chill wind blew, and from the shadows, two glowing red eyes flashed.

It was a vampire monster! Tall and cloaked in black, its long cape billowed in the wind, and its claws gleamed sharp and deadly.

“Heh heh heh… I can smell warm blood,” the creature growled, making Posil snarl.

The battle began!

The vampire moved as fast as the wind. In a blink, it was right in front of Irene, slashing with its claws. CLANG! The blow struck her shield so hard that her arm went numb, but she gritted her teeth and held her ground.

The creature leapt high into the air and landed behind her, aiming for her back with razor-sharp talons.
“Irene, behind you!” Jinnie shouted.
Irene rolled out of the way just in time, the claws leaving deep marks in the ground where she had been.

Posil seized the chance, darting in to grab the edge of the vampire’s cape in his teeth. “Woof! Woof!” He held on tightly, shaking his head to keep the monster off balance.

The vampire hissed, twisting and pulling to break free, then lunged forward with its mouth wide open, fangs flashing in the moonlight. Its cold breath brushed against Irene’s cheek.

“Now, Jinnie!” Irene cried.

Jinnie raised her staff high and chanted,
“Lumière… Sunshine!”

From the tip of her staff burst a blinding light like the sun. The vampire screamed, “Kreeeehh!”, stumbling back with its arms over its face. Sunlight was its greatest weakness.

Irene didn’t waste the moment. She charged forward and drove her sword deep into the vampire’s chest. Posil still clung to the cape, holding the monster in place, while Jinnie’s sunlight wrapped around it like a cage.

POOF!
In an instant, the vampire dissolved into black smoke. All that remained was a small silver coin-shaped talisman lying on the ground.

The three friends looked at each other.
“We… did it!” Irene said with a wide smile.

Jinnie grinned back.
“If I’d been alone, it would’ve been much harder. Posil, you were amazing!”

Posil wagged his tail and barked proudly, “Woof woof!”

Irene clasped her hands together.
“I think we’ve truly become a team now. Let’s go to the Sorcerer’s Castle… together.”

Under the moonlight, the three friends walked on. Their shadows stretched long across the path, but their hearts felt stronger and braver than ever.

차가운 바람과 함께 그림자 속에서 붉은 눈빛이 번쩍였어요.

그건 바로 뱀파이어 괴물이었어요!
키가 크고, 길게 뻗은 검은 망토가 바람에 펄럭였고,
손톱은 번쩍이며 날카롭게 빛났어요.

“으흐흐… 따뜻한 피 냄새가 나는군.”
괴물이 낮게 웃자, 그 말소리에 포실이 으르렁거렸어요.

전투가 시작됐어요!

뱀파이어는 바람처럼 빠르게 움직였어요.
순식간에 아이린의 앞에 나타나 손톱으로 휘익! 긁었고,
방패에 부딪히자 쾅! 하는 소리와 함께 강한 충격이 전해졌어요.
팔이 저릿했지만 아이린은 이를 악물고 버텼어요.

괴물은 이번엔 높이 뛰어올라 뒤쪽으로 돌아가
날카로운 발톱으로 아이린의 등 뒤를 노렸어요.
“아이린, 뒤야!” 지니가 외쳤고,
아이린은 재빨리 몸을 굴러 피했어요.
땅바닥에는 발톱에 긁혀 깊게 파인 자국이 남았어요.

포실은 옆에서 기회를 엿보다가
괴물의 망토 자락을 꽉! 물었어요.
“멍! 멍!” 포실이 용감하게 버티자
괴물은 망토를 뿌리치려고 이리저리 몸을 흔들었어요.

하지만 뱀파이어는 입을 크게 벌리며
송곳니를 번뜩이고 아이린에게 달려들었어요.
차가운 숨결이 아이린의 뺨을 스쳤어요.

“지금이야, 지니!”
아이린이 외치자, 지니는 지팡이를 높이 들고 주문을 외웠어요.

“루미에르… 선샤인!”

순간, 지팡이 끝에서 해처럼 눈부신 빛이 뿜어져 나왔어요.
빛을 맞은 뱀파이어는 “끼야아악!” 하며 눈을 감고 뒤로 물러났어요.
그들의 가장 큰 약점은 바로 햇빛이었거든요.

아이린은 기회를 놓치지 않고 앞으로 달려가
검을 뱀파이어의 심장 부근에 깊게 꽂았어요.
포실은 여전히 망토를 붙잡고 괴물의 움직임을 막았고,
지니의 빛은 끊임없이 괴물을 감싸고 있었어요.

“펑!”
순간, 괴물은 검은 연기처럼 흩어져 사라졌어요.
남은 것은 바닥 위에 떨어진 작은 은빛 동전 모양의 부적뿐이었어요.

세 친구는 서로를 바라봤어요.
“우리가… 해냈어!” 아이린이 웃으며 말했어요.

지니도 웃으며 말했어요.
“혼자였다면 훨씬 힘들었을 거야. 포실, 너도 정말 용감했어!”

포실은 꼬리를 힘차게 흔들며 “멍멍!” 하고 짖었어요.

아이린은 두 손을 모아 말했어요.
“이제 진짜 한 팀이 된 것 같아.
마법사의 성까지… 꼭 함께 가자.”

달빛 아래, 세 친구는 나란히 걸었어요.
그들의 그림자는 길게 늘어져 있었지만,
마음만큼은 더없이 단단하고 든든했어요.
